Project management is the use of specific tools, methods and skills to complete a project. At the heart of this are efforts to create value through the end result. A project usually has a team, a schedule, a budget and set goals and expectations. It is a temporary and progressive attempt to achieve a specific goal. Project phases are smaller parts of a project that represent individual goals or milestones in the larger project lifecycle. Within the project lifecycle, there are project phases, as defined by the Project Management Institute: Project Initiation. Project planning. Project execution. Project monitoring and control. Project closure. A good feasibility study can make the difference between the success or failure of a construction project. This investigation examines the investigations that may have jeopardized a company's project. To achieve this goal, reading literature related to project management in the IT, construction, energy and healthcare sectors of information technology is necessary.
