Cache mapping is the procedure for deciding which cache line to map the main memory block to. In other words, the pattern used to copy the required contents from the main memory to the specific location of the cache memory is called cache allocation. The process of extracting the cache memory location and other related information, where cache memory allocation is a method of loading the data from main memory into cache memory.
