The world's leading public health organizations have said climate change is a critical public health problem. According to the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, climate change is exacerbating many existing diseases and conditions, and helping pests and pathogens spread to new regions. Global warming is a long-term increase in the average temperature on Earth. It is considered a natural phenomenon, but anthropogenic activities on Earth, especially after the Industrial Revolution, have led to an increase in the rate of this temperature rise. Several reports published by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) state that ground-level ozone is the main component of smog, and the warmer it gets, the more of it we have. Dirtier air is linked to higher hospitalization rates and higher death rates for asthma patients.
