1. Explore the interplay between cultural beliefs and paranormal experiences. Cultural norms and values ​​determine how individuals perceive, interpret, and report paranormal phenomena. Cross-cultural studies can reveal how different cultural contexts influence the nature and frequency of paranormal experiences. Processes of globalization bring people from different cultural backgrounds into close relationships, as evidenced by the unprecedented expansion of tourism, the flourishing of multinational corporations, the emergence of new geographical units, the spread of pop culture, the increasing flow of migration, the growth of diasporas. This essay examines three examples of cultural studies emerging from Africa in relation to the North Atlantic field. What a 'southern' lens offers the North are different ways of making meaning and a transnational framework that enables peer-to-peer conversations. There are eight essays that have used the work of Deleuze and Guattari as a conceptual platform for rethinking cultural studies itself as a practice. Four of these are from a special issue devoted to that topic 14.2, published in and co-edited by Gregory J. Seigworth and J. Macgregor Wise. This short essay introduces the collection of essays on cultural studies in mainland China and Chinese-speaking societies, relating the emergence and development of Chinese cultural studies to changes in society. It documents the two forces in cultural studies between analyzing what is happening and intervening in society,
