Social Networks and Concept of Interlocking Directors Finance Essay




As an important social network relationship, the interlocking director network is a direct or indirect inter-firm network established by directors serving on the boards of two or more. Common examples of dual phenomena arising from mutually constitutive relationships involving individuals include interlocking boards of directors, 68, 76 social events attended by multiple people. The performance of companies is generally influenced by their structural anchorage in social networks. This article examines the effects of structural gap positions of directors on the operational and investment efficiency of their companies, from a corporate finance perspective. We are building an interlocking network of directors in Chinese. Overall, the research of interlocking directorates can be divided along two axes, creating four distinct areas of study. First, the level of analysis can be the 'actor' or the 'network'. Second, the unit of analysis can be the individual director or the company.
