Integrated water management IWRM is a concept intended to promote effective water management. GWP defined it as “the process that promotes. IWRM is the process of managing water resources holistically and of promoting a coordinated focus on water, land and related natural resources during development activities. It recognizes that freshwater is a finite and vulnerable resource, essential to human livelihoods and the natural environment, and a public good. 1 Introduction. Rainwater management is an essential issue in sustainable urban development. Improper storm management in cities leads to waterlogging and formation of floods, urban water scarcity, soil erosion, rainwater wastage and pollution of water bodies. Jia et al. 2015, Jiang et al. 2018. Inadequate control of urban flooding also causes social problems. Integrated Water Resources Management is understood as a process that promotes the development and coordinated management of water, land and related resources to maximize economic and social well-being in an equitable manner and without compromising the future sustainability of vital ecosystems to take.
