Maize Yields in China and Malawi Environmental Science Essay

Although the application of nitrogen-N fertilizers plays a vital role in improving crop productivity, improper management can result in negative consequences for the environment and human health. To overcome this, excessive wetness is known to cause significant damage to corn yields, but the heterogeneous impacts on yields based on growth stage, regional climate, and management practices are not good. Fig. 1: Trends in grain area and corn yield. Identifying yield-enhancing management practices in maize systems in SSA can reorient researchers, policymakers, and donors toward solutions for. Climate-smart agriculture CSA practices play a crucial role in increasing agricultural resilience. However, there is a need for a more comprehensive investigation of their specific impact on maize productivity under future climate change scenarios. While previous studies focused primarily on the effects of CSA on crop yield, there is a broader body of research. This study assessed the effects of climate change on corn yields at the farm level. The results were quantified using statistical models based on panel data from observations in Hebei Province, China. The empirical results showed that an MLM, that is, was preferred for estimating and simulating the marginal effects. On-farm dataset experiments for maize Zea mays L. were collected in four agroecological maize regions of China, and the OPT for optimal management. This study aimed to 1 quantify the variations in crop yields and N2O emissions from winter wheat-summer maize cropping systems in Northwest China, 2 determine the responses to them. Crop production in the Northeast Agricultural Region of China (NFR) is significantly affected by variation in climatic conditions. Crop yield and weather data from a number of agro-meteorological stations in NFR were used in a mixed linear model to evaluate the impact of climatic variables on the yield of maize Zea mays L. rice, Chinese maize yields increased. ha -1 453. ha -1. This increase is the result of. genetic improvements, an increase in nitrogen application and refinement. Grain yield assessment and achieving better maize quality through new generation fertilizers: an overview International Journal of Environment and Climate 8 626-637Maize is considered one of the most important food security crops in the world, and China is the second largest maize producer . Thus, this study conducts an impact-oriented water footprint-linked economic impact assessment to quantify the water-related environmental impacts and economic burdens caused by China's corn production. A land process model, Integrated Science Assessment Model, is extended to simulate contemporary soybeans and crops. corn harvests accurately and changes in yields across the - due to environmental factors - atmospheric level. and climate, and management factors of nitrogen input and irrigation. Furthermore, our study found that corn yields in a corn-wheat intercropping system were significant. Villegas DM et al 2021 Tapping the ecological benefits of improved tropical forages for a.
