In the first of a series of short videos about. essay technique, I have tried to provide a worked example of how to plan the two PeCAn PiE paragraph points and the AJIM conclusion for the AQA A Level Business assessment essay. Read the question carefully. Comment on all the ideas in it or all of its parts. Plan your ideas first and then choose the best ones. Introduce your essay by restating the question in your own words. Show understanding for both sides of the argument. Use connecting words to connect your ideas. Draw your conclusion from the main ideas in your essay. The origins of both British English and American English vary. While British English on the one hand originated with the German colonists, American English, although widespread, emerged with the Yankees of the American Civil War. To date, American English has been divided into Midland, Western, Southern, and Northern English. Here are some actionable steps to help you: Start with a clear goal: Define the purpose of your document and stick to it. Organize your thoughts: Use headings, bullet points, and paragraphs to logically structure your content. Be concise: use clear language and eliminate unnecessary words. Make a claim. Provide the grounds for the claim. Explain to the order how the grounds support the claim. Discuss possible refutations of the claim, identify the limits of the argument, and demonstrate that you have considered alternative perspectives. The Toulmin model is a common approach in academic essays.
