Dyadic Relationships and Athletes' Well-Being Psychology Essay
Chronic disabling health conditions affect an increasing number of people worldwide. In close relationships, disability is an interpersonal experience. Psychological problems are therefore common, both among patients and their spouses. Dyadic coping can alleviate stress and promote adjustment in couples dealing with disabling health. Research on romantic relationships has focused, among other things, on the matching effect of attachment between dyadic partners, because a matching perspective could reveal interdependence and interaction. The purpose of this study was to make an original contribution to the sport psychology literature by offering a substantively grounded theory of dyadic coping in coach-athlete relationships. This study specifically aimed to document the development and manifestation of dyadic coping for coaches and athletes active in individual sports. Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology is an international journal that publishes articles on personnel psychology, ergonomics, industrial relations and more. Leader-Member Exchange LMX has long been considered a relationship-based, dyadic model of leader-follower interactions. As Emde 1991 noted many years ago, in a two-parent family with three children, there are dyadic relationships, triadic relationships, and countless lives. Course experiences and the diversity that contribute to the child's emerging phenotype challenge developmental scientists to cautiously consider findings on parent-child dyads. To put it briefly, the idea of empowerment is unique to coach-athlete relationships. Tawse, Bloom, Sabiston, amp Reid, 2012 and there is often less attention to mutual support provisions. Thus, there are several roles present in coach-athlete relationships that may influence how dyadic coping manifests. 3.1. Strengths The current study had two objectives: 1. The aim was to examine the cross-sectional relationships between the DT and aggression and whether the DT components psychopathy, Machiavellianism and narcissism predict anger and aggression in a sample of athletes, and 2 .The aim was to investigate the dyadic relationships between the DT, Correlational Analysis. Pearson bivariate correlations between variables were calculated separately for athlete and coach scores, and for combined coach and athlete scores. Relationship quality, indicated by the sum of closeness, commitment, and complementarity, was positively associated with positive dyadic coping.,
