The evidence for social and environmental factors that contribute to obesity is often underappreciated. The prevalence of obesity is significantly associated with gender, racial, ethnic identity, and health determinants. Many factors combine to influence the health of individuals and communities. Whether people are healthy or not is determined by their circumstances and environment. In large part, it is factors such as where we live, the state of our environment, genetics, our income and education levels, and our relationships with them. Our exposures of interest were selected social determinants of health SDOH, consisting of demographic, socio-economic, behavioral and environmental characteristics. Demographic factors include gender categorized as male and female, age subgroup - 13 - - and race-ethnicity,
