Analysis of Ethical Egoism Philosophy Essay
In ethics, egoism is a theory that states that the purpose and motive of behavior is to promote one's own interests and not those of others. Egoism is divided into several theories, including ethical egoism and psychological egoism, but all forms of egoism require an explanation of 'self-interest' or 'welfare'. To download. Ethical egoism, in my opinion, is not the moral theory that people should follow or live by. Simply put, my belief stems from the many inconsistencies and contradictions inherent in the said normative system. Self-interest and self-preservation, while very valuable, are not, in my opinion, the primary factors discussing altruism in the first sentence. This theory places more emphasis on the interests of oneself and ignores or places less emphasis on the self-interests of other people.
