General principles. Restorative justice is defined as a process in which parties with an interest in a specific criminal offense jointly decide how to deal with the aftermath of the criminal offense and its implications for the future. Restoration of rights can take the form of victim-offender mediation, either through direct contact between the perpetrator and the perpetrator.
