Juan Gris' The Table depicts a cubist still life with an extensive combination of traditional naturalism, abstraction and collage of paper-coll, pasted paper. Objects or parts of objects, including a pipe, a glass, bottles and a key, are meticulously drawn and colored with charcoal. However, the 1917 painting Portrait of Olga in an Armchair may or may not be typical of Picasso's Cubist work. Cubism is divided into two phases, the first phase being abstract cubism. Abstract cubism limited the artist's use of color. Most palettes were limited or dominated to mainly grays and browns with strong, hard colors. Historical account Cubism is part of the abstraction period of modern art at the beginning of the twentieth century. There was a series of isms that influenced each other and quickly emerged in the modern art world. These include Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Divisionism, and Symbolism.
